Weapons are the central gameplay element in Wizard with a Gun. Your wizard has six weapon slots to fill up with any weapon you choose, including two basic crafter guns, the Worldbuilder and Groundlayer. Weapons are split between four categories and four quality grades, corresponding to each biome. Your wizard can always craft a Wooden Gun. The type of weapon affects the damage done, with Revolvers doing 1x base damage, Carbines doing 1.75x base damage, Machine Wands doing 0.3x base damage, and Wanderbusses inflicting 0.45x base damage per shot, for a total of 2.25x damage if all shots connect. Higher grade weapons also allow for more powders to be used, have a larger magazine, and reach a farther. Weapons can be converted into Arcana using the Arcane Annihilator, but it pays it out depending on the grade/quality of the weapon, not its type.
Over 50 new guns have been added as of March 7th, 2024 in the Bounty of Guns update. Every gun with the exception of the Revolver, Carbine, Wanderbuss, Machine Wand, Mortar, and Riders' guns are found by collecting bounties by killing powerful enemies marked by a bounty icon that looks like a scroll on the minimap, then turning in the bounties to the bounty mechana.

Locations[]
- Standard Guns are the only guns that can be crafted. Find Young Joshua in The Imperium and provide him with wood and scrap (corresponding to the quality of the weapon). Players need to have scanned Cult of Iron, Cult of Lead, Cult of Cobalt, or Cult of Steel members to unlock the recipes for their respective gun tiers.
- Cult of Iron, Cult of Lead, Cult of Cobalt, and Cult of Steel members all have a chance to drop Standard Guns relative to their tier, e.g. Cult of Lead members will drop Rugged guns.
- With the bounty of guns update, various Bounties can be found around the map. They are usually strong enemies, and drop bounties that can be turned in to a bounty mechana when killed. The guns awarded are semi-random, with each type of bounty having a pool of guns that contain both common and unique bounty guns.
